Bert, I think the relay was under the rear seat. You can buy special paint on wiring to fix the grid. I can't remember what it is called, but you can find it easily on the net. It's about $20 for a ridiculously small bottle, but I used about 1.5 bottles on the back window of my 78 Bus.
