Excel on a PC has keyboard commands to navigate spreadsheets and workbooks. Examples: Home key goes to the beginning of a row. Control Home goes to the top of a spreadsheet. Control pageup / page-down switches between workbooks. Shift right arrow selects cells. The equals sign starts a formula.

Hi and thanks for your response. s. I have identified the problem, 3D touch was enabled and set to sensitive hence all the unwanted menus etc popping up everytime I moved my finger. I've turned it off whilst I set up the phone.  I may turn it back on at some stage but I am not a fan of it
