I am not saying it’s perfect, but if you know you want to delete a bunch of messages then this is one work-around which might be a better solution than to delete one message at a time and in between you end up on the back button and have to find your place again. From:

If you have Gmail, then your delete folder is set to archive. Check the advanced settings under the mail account in the passwords and accounts portion of settings. That, or its something on the server side. It is not uncommon to have it say delete when you are flicking up on a specific message,

You didn't find a delete button, because it is labelled, Trash, in the bottom right corner of the screen. That then deletes all the selected messages after using the edit button and selecting the messages with a double tap. I just did that to confirm. HTH, Richard "Reality is the leading

Hi, Firstly when I employed your method once messages were selected while it reported me a number of messages selected nowhere could I find a delete button on screen and when I flicked down to delete on one of the messages that had been selected it only deleted that message in question.
