With speech off and VO still on it is possible to double tap the back button; you can still hear the clicks indicating you have backed out of whatever you are into. For instance, I went into a play list and then used the Speech Off gesture. I could then double tap the back button to back out of th

I always have blind people who I help with i devices set it to voiceover first thing. Once that's done, if speech is lost for any reason such as accidentally turning it off, you can trippleclick home and get Voiceover back in normal operation.
