Well this does not answer my question. It is an iPad 3, it has iOS 6.1, why
is dictation not working? Thank you, I know where the dictation button is.
Why is there no Siri menu, if Siri does indeed exist on the iPad 3 in iOS

I have a student who has an iPad 3, we are just setting it up at the moment,
and although dictation is on according to the general and keyboard settings, I
can't get it to work. I have an iPad two myself, which doesn't have dictation,
so I'm not sure if I'm missing something. On the iPhone
There is no siri menu.
The dictate button is on the keyboard next to the space bar.
Siri and dictation are two different things.
