I'm curious, why the 6 over the 7? Also, does it work with other
devices such as a PC or laptop?

Hi Joanne, I highly recommend the Zoom IQ6. Sound quality is very good. It
records in stereo and connects to the lightning port of your iDevice. The
microphone includes a headphone socket, so you can plug headphones into that
and still hear VO while you're recording.
It comes with a pretty good
Neal Ewers has sent several messages about the IQ 5 and 6 microphones and has
done some audio samples.
If you search the archives for IQ 6 or IQ 5 you will probably find them.
These microphones are about $100 and do not work with many cases on iPhones,
but going by the samples Neal has
will try to locate it.

I have ordered an extender which actually now makes the microphone work with
likely all the cases out there although I have not proved that. I don't have
that information

When you get the cable, please let us know if it works.
That would be a nice solution.
Thanks,
Richard

I'll take a close look at the iq6 or iq7.
Someone mention that you have some samples recording, can you please share the
link again?
The Rode IXQ L mike is around $120USD, and is pretty similar with the iq5 in
specs.

Is it better to buy the IQ 5 or the IQ 6? Also, will these Mike's work with
DropVox? I know that that app supports stereo recording, but I don't know if it
matters what Mike you use.
Thanks for posting the info on your extender

Hi.
There are an Iq5, an iq6 and an iq7. I know all of them. I love the iq6 over
the iq5 and iq7, but it depends a little on what you are going to use it for. I
guess you will need the iq6 or iq7.
Best regards

Does anyone have a suggestion for an external microphone for the iPhone? I
know there are ones that plug into the lightning port. I also need to be able
to plug in headphones into the headphone port so I can hear voiceover output.
