John must not have read your messages hence does not realize you are in
India. Any phone sold by a major carrier such as ATT or Verizon will not be
unlocked, especially not if it is $99. Also any Verizon iPhone before the 4S
which has both CDMA and GSM radios will only work on a CDMA
