of some Apple approved GPS receivers, there is a way you can
get your typical GPS receiver to be seen by the iPhone. That
is of course if you jailbreak. When you do this, there is a
Bluetooth stack
There is a mute button, then it doesn't say anything. I think I said about
this, so not as happy as many with it.

One I had never heard about before, the Emprum UltiMate GPS Receiver, $105
on Amazon.com
Any GPS app will only recognise what is recognised by iOS. There are only a
couple GPS receivers which iOS recognises.
