And because of these limitations a dedicated colour identifier like the
Colorino or Rainbow are still your best option.

The iPhone camera and the apps are no good at accurate color ID.
Too much variation in lighting.
If you could insure absolutely the same lighting each time, you could learn
what a given app calls what color. TapTapSee does an OK job, but I would not
count on any app if I
