Go to one or two of the songs from your Playlist in iTunes and press
Control+I for Get Info. This shortcut is for Windows. Now go to the Info
tab and check the fields there for artist, album artist, album etc. I assume
maybe the songs in your Playlist don't have the correct ID3 tags or

Thanks for the suggestion. That is exactly the problem. Although the
artist field is populated correctly, there is another field called
album artist which is not populated at all.
