Hi Kimber,

Go to one or two of the songs from your Playlist in iTunes and press
Control+I for "Get Info". This shortcut is for Windows. Now go to the Info
tab and check the fields there for artist, album artist, album etc. I assume
maybe the songs in your Playlist don't have the correct ID3 tags or maybe
they don't have any ID3 tags. iTunes and the music app on your phone uses
these tags to group music by artist, album, genre etc.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: SWhy does iTunes not show the music that is actually on my phone?

Hi All,

I used to think I understood the process for syncing music through iTunes,
but recently I've begun to doubt that.

For example, I have some music by Marvin Gay on my phone. I have a playlist
that contains approximately eighteen songs. I also have another song which I
recently purchased that is not part of the playlist. When I look under
artists on the phone, I see only one album and one song by Marvin Gay. Yet
when I look under playlists, my entire Marvin Gay playlist is there with all
eighteen songs.

I'm sure there are other discrepencies, but can anyone explain why the
artist representation does not reflect the music that is on the phone?
I mean, why even have that information available if it isn't accurate?

Any enlightenment will be much appreciated.

Kimber
