double tap time-out setting was changed to lower the speed needed to
execute a double tap. The effect of this would require you to double tap

because it thinks you’re doing something. Try disabling hands-free Siri and
just use the side button and see if that helps. I never have used
Give that feedback to Apple. The new thing of Siri being available for follow
up questions I think is essentially keeping the mic open and thus it cannot
give a full answer if it hears anything.
Pretty pointless.
I find nothing in Siri settings to disable this.
