Thanks, I didn't know that. I have never hooked my Apple account to a bank
card, because it's way too easy to blow through money without even realizing
how much you are spending. Well, at least now I know what's going on.

As others have mentioned. If you have received money from a iTunes gift card
for yourself or by others. You can't use any of that money for gifting it to
others. So at this point you have to use a bank card and such that will use
to allow you to purchase a gift for others. Another Apple rule
There's no problem, Apple does not allow gifting apps using your account
balance. You need a credit card on file before you can gift apps etc.
