It has been like that in the big cities for the last 11 years! (smile.)

I think the country is going to a 10 digit dialing
This is often because you don't have the full phone number stored in your
address book, or you have the same number stored twice. Either way, the
iPhone gets confused.
So make sure you have (123) 456-7890 and not just 456-7890 stored.
One foolproof method is to delete the number from the
. Apparently, now we'll soon
be forced to add them even on local calls.

Hi Scott,
I don't have this problem on my iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1. When you bring up
the list of ringtones in Settings, Sounds, Ringtone, what happens when you
double tap on a ringtone to select it? Does Voiceover say Selected and
then when you double tap on Back at the top left of the screen,
That is exactly what is happening and from doing a Google search on my problem
I found a Mac World post on what is being called an iOS 6 default ringtone bug.
They give some supposed bug fixes and I have tried them all, but my phone will
still only use the Marimba default ringtone.
Scott
On
In iTunes, does it say your ringTones location is invalid?
does the ringTones play on the iPhone?
Thanks,
Rob

Yes the ringtones will play on my phone when I double tap on them and VO also
says selected, but when I then call my phone from our home phone or from my
wife's iPhone, the default ringtone will be the one that plays.
