As for dot 6, y, I find I have to delete the entire word then re-type
it, with no errors, for it to be contracted to ally. As for the ff thing
etc, I can duplicate and I hope a fix is in the works. Perhaps VoiceOver
could be made to say, lower f, for example.

I tried words like traffic and really and combinations like to the and
they all worked fine.
This was with the free version and tweets.
If you are using Australian or another voice where UEBC is the default you
won't be able to use some contractions
The words I had difficulty with where the words difficulty and automatically.
In each of those words, the Contractions did not work. I am using the US
