Frankly, I would just go into the purchased section of updates in the
appstore on your iPHONE5 and download the ones you want from there.
You'll then have the most up-to-date versions of apps. Lots of them
are getting iOS8 updates.

Hi. Just to expound and perhaps clarify a bit, go into the App Store and
double-tap the Updases Tab. Double-tap on Purchased. In the resulting
Purchased screen, double-tap on Not On This iPhone, and you'll see a list of
all of your purchased apps that aren't sresently on your device. Each
