Actually, it is just like multiple windows in any computer internet browser.
Just double-tap the pages button in the lower right corner to start closing
windows. It is just like closing tabs or windows in modern browsers.

Ok David, figured out what you were trying to convey.
Using the close button as you have described it below is a bit slow and kind
of a pain for me. Again, for me, just me.
After experimenting, I did find

Thanks Chris, I usually try to remember to do what you suggest before I close
down Safari. It's just really annoying when I don't have the opportunity to do
that. I have Safari on my MBP set so that pages don't reopen when I open Safari
and wondered if there was a way to do this in IOS as well.
Hi,
Nope. You have to do this manually in IOS. It is a pain sometimes. haha.

Guys
Thanks for letting me know it's not just me being daft. Probably a bit late for
IOS7.0, but I think it might be a good thing to suggest to Apple for future
consideration.

Once in the pages area, I only have to double-tap repeatedly on the close
page button. Knowing where the close page button is on the screen is a very
big benefit. The power of the touchscreen is that one gets a two-dimensional
view. This is very effective when a person explores

Hi
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to stop Safari reopening all the pages you
had open in your last session? I've looked in settings, but can't see any way
round this, except to physically close down all open pages before quitting
Safari.

On iOs double tap the pages button at the bottom of the screen, then
double tap the close button on all pages displayed. Eventually you will
see a screen with untitled, the address bar, the search field, etc.
