Perhaps it depends on how you receive your emails. I get each email sent to my
phone and my posts show up almost immediately. It may be different if you are
receiving abridged emails or digest emails.

something mentioned which now makes me think this is only true if we're
talking about a Gmail account, i.e. if you're using Gmail then you won't
see the messages you've posted to the list.
