I wonder if that's the beeping I was hearing lastnight and couldn't figure out

Glad to know the feature has a similar name, but in fact is under audio,
sounds, not VO recognition on older phones.

So
My iPod touch seventh generation doesn’t have the voice recognition option
after braille, so after exploration what I did was:
Settings/accessibility/voiceover/audio/sound/detected text and images; I hear
no beeps after turning sound to off.

Ever since I updated to iOS 14, after VoiceOver stops speaking on the screen,
occasionally I hear a beep and it speaks some text on a different part of the
screen. I've gone into settings, but have no idea what this could be.
