Thanks, but this is really annoying when you need to use the command key as
part of a keystroke. There doesn't seem to be any way of making the hints go
away again.

Sorry to reply to the same message twice, but in certain apps, such as e-mail
and safari, they seem to appear by default, just because I'm using a Bluetooth
keyboard, also on the home screen this happens. It's unbelievably frustrating,
as there doesn't seem to be any option anywhere to stop it.
No, I tried that, I don't think they're anything to do with VoiceOver, they
seem to appear on the screen if you're using a bt keyboard.
