Hi all,
before getting the iPhone Xs I could plug a cord in to the headphone socket and
get stereo output. Now when I put the lightening plug in and use the adapter to
convert to the traditional kind of plug and connect it to the car or anything

all was set as it should be. However whilst fiddling around I got stereo sound.
One of the cords is faulty. Problem is I can’t find out if it is the Apple cord
or mine! I don’t have a spare of either to try. I will now consider plan B.
I write this incase it helps somebody else.

Hello Max,
Perhaps you inadvertently set your phone to mono output. To check, and to
change it back if that's what happened, go to Settings/General/Accessibility.
In the Hearing section is a Mono Audio toggle. If necessary, double-tap it to
turn it off.
