If I no longer wish to have music on my iPhone, and I delete it from the phone,
how do I keep my mac from putting it back when I sync things like contacts?

Connect your iPhone to the computer, find it in the Source list and then tab
until you hear Music. I am not sure if you use Windows or a Mac, but if it
is Windows press the space bar to check the checkbox, then tab until you get
to where it says Sync Music. If it is checked you can tab
