iPhone's magnifier is of no use, doesnt provide much zoom in, it has
serious problem with stability. myself being partially sighted, have
never been successful in using iPhones magnifier. Though there are
couple of good apps in android which provide much better focus and
stability.
On 4/11/19,
Try mag light. I use it all the time. The only problem with it is that it is a
battery hog.

I have a SenseView hand held video magnifier. A few years ago I tried a couple
phone apps for magnification, but could not figure any out. I was listening to
a couple Blind Bargains podcasts from CSUN talking about products that work
with an iPad and claim to be a terrific video magnifier
