Re: VO Friendly Guitar Lessons/Tutorials
Hi Todd, the guitar by ear lessons by Bill Brown which you can get from your NLS Library or online have great guitar lessons. He dictates the lessons and you learn to play them. He also share samples and place the lesson for you so you can hear it. Good luck and God bless, Wren Langley PS I know this is not used with the iPhone, but I think you would find them very beneficial and instructive. Re: VO Friendly Guitar Lessons/Tutorials
If you are using the bard app, when you go to the get books tab, double tap on browse bard, then go down to the music section and double tap. Then to the search the collection field. If you want to see all the guitar materials, just search for guitar. There are books by other people than just Bill Brown. Or just search for Bill Brown but you will find banjo, bass, and guitar and other lessons that way. There are quite a few. Importing text files in AccessNote
Greetings. Could someone please remind me how to import text files into AcccessNote? I tried importing a text file several times from Dropbox and never did find any way to do this. I ended up creating multiple new notes. Does the text file need to be in the AFB_AccessNote folder in Dropbox in order to be imported? Using the latest version of AccessNote, which I think is 1.2, and an iPhone 6 with iOS 8.2. Re: Sending a photo in an email message reply
Ioana: I'm glad you have no problem activating the Insert Photo or Video option in the edit menu. While this is encouraging, it doesn't give me much specific information. If I knew how to execute the command from the menu, I wouldn't be taking up people's time by asking. I solved the problem I was having with the Swarm app by deleting and re-installing it. I sent the screenshot to Foursquare by copying it into my Dropbox folder and sending a separate message, and then replied to the original message thread to explain why. I'd still like to know how to insert a photo or video using the edit menu. Kathy Blackburn kblac...@austin.rr.com -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. RE: VO Friendly Guitar Lessons/Tutorials
In addition to the Bill Brown guitar lessons mentioned, remember that YouTube is also a good source to find complete guitar lessons or tips and tricks. It’s a bit hit and miss as far as finding someone who is good at describing what it is they are doing, but once you do come across someone who gives clear explinations, then just subscribe to their channel. I’ve been able to pick up some classical and flamenco pieces this way. There’s always something one can pick up on the guitar. I’ve tried using some guitar tab apps, but even if the app itself is accessible, reading the tabs really isnt’ feasible with Voiceover. At least not in my experience. YouPlayer is an accessible app for YouTube along with the native YouTube app. From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Todd W Sent: Tuesday, March 31, 2015 4:28 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: VO Friendly Guitar Lessons/Tutorials Hi All, Does anyone have any suggestions for guitar tutorials that work well with VoiceOver and suited for someone who is visually impaired? Sure. Doubt that it’ll help the English speaking bunch since I learned the guitar and all its subsequent terms in Spanish (do, re, mi, cejilla, traste, etc.). But for those who speak Spanish, the channels I do subscribe to are: guitarraviva, albertguitar100, Ivan González and cristianvid. All of them offer full guitar tutorials. Albrt100 is more focused towards the flamenco and classical/instrumental aspect of playing. Whereas the other three do everything individual song tutorials, chords, rhythms, etc. Indeed Albert100 offers the same lessons he does in Spanish in English, but well…his English language accent is a bit on the rough side and it would probably be a challenge for someone to follow along. He’s the one I’m partial too. I’ve picked up some good Beethoven and Tárrega pieces via his instruction. I believe all these guys with the exception of Ivan González has their own guitar playing/learning website, but again, they’re going to be in Spanish. I’ll often throw these videos to my Apple TV via my phone for better sound and picture in case I might need my sighted wife to tell me where a certain finger placement or sequence is if I can’t figure it out on my own.
