Re: how to use the app switcher with a braille display?
Hi Dacia. Yes, just be sure your rotor is set to actions which it usually will be by default, and press space with dot 3, followed by space with 3-6 to activate the delete option. If you need to move the rotor, you can use space with dots 5-6 or 2-3 to move through it. 5-6 with space moves you forward through the rotor options, space 2-3 moves you to the previous rotor option. Hope this helps, Scott On 8/6/15, Flor Lynch florl...@iol.ie wrote: Press the h-chord twice to get into it. Re: Does anyone know how I can change the tabs which appear in Twitterrific on IPhone and IPad?
Thanks so much for that! I knew they could be changed as my Apple trainer did tell me once, but it was only briefly and I couldn't remember for the life of me how to do it! On a slightly separate note, but still to do with Twitterrific, there is one thing that they definitely need to work on making more accessible for us - cleaning the timeline cash! At the moment when you follow the steps VO gives you absolutely no help what so ever about where the icons are that you need to touch (it doesn't speak them or anything). Even my trainer's tried and hasn't found a way so I'm having to rely on sighted help at the moment. So definitely something they need to fix, unless anyone knows something we don't. Thanks again. Re: Downloading A Purchased Book Into iBooks
Hi Eileen. Provided your phone and computer are using the same account, your books should download once you've double-tapped on the download option as you've apparently done. You may want to close and re-open iBOOKS and try again. On 8/6/15, Eileen Misrahi eileen.misr...@gmail.com wrote: Hello Folks, Since I really don’t use iBooks all that much, I don’t know if this is usual behavior. I purchased a book through iTunes on my MacBook Air yesterday and accessed it just find through iBooks on the Mac. I opened my iPhone6, running iOS 8.4 and the current version of iBooks. In iBooks, I went to the purchased tab and opened it. The book was listed and I tapped on the download button. There are over 1000 pages in the book, so I would think it would take a little time. Currently, the “download” button is dimmed, so I’m just not sure if the book is still in this process. The book has not shown up in my “My Books” list yet. I would appreciate some advice if there is a way to figure out how much as downloaded and how long it will take? How will I know if the download has been completed? Also, I didn’t see a picker chooser to change the page number, so I am thinking it is still in progress. Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this. Re: Downloading A Purchased Book Into iBooks
Hi Michael, Thanks for your response. I have closed out the app from the app switcher and reopened it again without any change. The MacBook Air and the iPhone are on the same Apple ID account and password. I am perplexed that I can't get out of this loop. Thanks, I'm glad to know I'll be able to use it. I went ahead and purchased the tracker yesterday; I figured that, since Jawbone supports HealthKit, I'd be able to at least see my information that way if I had to. So, I choose to share a relevant contact via text message, and my wife has an older nokia phone. When I send the message, I receive a message failure notifications in the text messaging app, and then the contact is not shared at all. Chase only accepts deposits from its own customers. I have a Chase account and and an account with an online brokerage that offers banking servcies for free. Here in Chicago, BMO Harris Bank offers the ability to withdraw cash using an iPhone or android phone. I am not a customer of this bank and do not know how accessible the bank’s app is to perform this task. Unfortunately, the most sophisticated functions available on talking ATM's today are not on this bank’s iPhone app. The blind end user must utilize a talking ATM. Chase seems to have the most access to the advanced features. At chase, people can deposit checks without an envelope and the machine reads the amount on the check, even if it is handwritten. The check can be deposited without inputting any amount as this is captured by the ATM's scanners. Also, cash can be deposited without an envelope and the ATM recognizes the denominations of the paper currency and presents them to the end user in audio for approval. The latest functionality is that the ATM stocks all bill denominations except the $2 bill. The blind end user can use audio to select the denominations of the bills to be withdrawn. The ATM does not mix denominations for the audio user. Bills of the same denominations are dispensed at the same time until the entire amount is withdrawn. To summarize, you may be able to withdraw cash using the iPhone app from some banks. It is unlikely though that you can specify that you want four $100 bills for a withdraw of $400 instead of all $20 bills. Re: how to write the at sign in an email address using a braille display with the Iphone 6
I am using a braille sense YouTube with the Perkins style keyboard. Is there a certain input I need the braille display to be in and a certain input or output I need the phone to be in? For example, do I need to use 8.braille or 6.real? I currently have it set for US English braille display, not UEB. Jawbone app. accessibility
Hi there, I use a Jawbone Up24 and its app. daily, I find the device quite useful, of course, not a patch on the Apple watch I presume, but cheaper to buy especially at that price for sure. The app. is not totally accessible but with a little patience and time, I'm sure you will understand its querks. If you ignore the pretty graphics, you will find it gives good and relevant information almost in real time and the site is pretty good as well. Should you need more info or help, don't hesitate to contact me privately or via this list, I monitor it daily. All the best, Marie P.S. Re: Latest music App
I think home sharing for music has been temporarily disabled. It will be coming back in iOS 9 so says various sources like Mac Daily News. On 06/08/2015 04:33, Agent086b wrote: Hello all, running IOS 8.4. In the past I could use the music App for playing music stored on my iMac. I used to have a more option at the bottom of the main screen of the App. In the more option I could choose to go to my network and get access to all of my music. I can’t find this option now. How can I play my own music on the iPad? Thanks for any help. Max. -- The following information is important for all members of the viphone list. Re: Sharing contacts
Hi Jan, I have sent my husband a contact successfully, and he has an Android phone, so the other phone doesn't have to be an iPhone. I can find the options to share via email, messaging and so on. So, I choose to share a relevant contact via text message, and my wife has an older nokia phone. When I send the message, I receive a message failure notifications in the text messaging app, and then the contact is not shared at all. Is this normal, and does this mean that you can only share via messaging to another apple device then? Any help appreciated.
