RE: keyboard

2022-06-26 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I have the K-380 from Logitech, which I think has pretty distinctive keys, and
I don't have any problem typing on it. I assume the K-480 and K-780, which are
larger, would also have distinctive keys. The keys aren't as high as they would
be on a desktop keyboard, but like I said, they're pretty distinctive. I
haven't seen a dead flat keyboard, but I don't think the K-380 would fall into
that category.

Re: labeling an unlabeled button

2022-06-26 Thread Mike Arrigo
Unfortunately, with these apps, there is no way to know how accessible it is
without having the robot vacuum that the app controls. There are a couple apps
where the controls to create your account and pair the robot to your network
work fine but once you are in the main screen that controls the robot, that's
where the unlabeled buttons are. And, I'm wondering if these screens are even
part of the app or if they are downloaded from the robot itself rather than
being part of the app. The reason I'm suspecting this is that the screens will
not display at all if the robot is off line, and a recent firmware update on
one of the robots changed how some of the controls were spoken, it's actually
better now. Regardless of whether the screens are coded in the app or
downloaded from the robot, I agree, things should be labeled, but again, there
is no way to know unless you can ask someone else who has used voiceover with
that particular bot.

RE: labeling an unlabeled button

2022-06-26 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
Except if the app is really poorly done all buttons may then have the label you
just entered for one button. I can't remember the app, but this happened to me
once so, if for example one button would say "start" then instead of all
buttons just saying "button" they then all say "start" which is just as useless.
I would not support a company by buying their expensive product if they can't
be even bothered to putting simple labels on their buttons.

RE: Trouble with VoiceDream/Bookshare

2022-06-26 Thread Richard Turner
That usually means it hasn't fully downloaded.

With their audio books, they take a long time to download.
Don't close that screen until it says download complete. That can be 5 to 10
minutes or more depending on how long the book is.

If the manual is still waiting, it could be something else.
Try closing Voice Dream and all other apps out of the app switcher.

Then, open Voice Dream again and see where things are.
You may have to download them again.

them, I've emailed the companies about this issue but who knows if they will
address it so thought I might try labeling them myself.

That's my feeling too: you're trying to type your eMail in the Subject field,
which does have limited space. You need to right-flick past the Subject, or
better yet, in the subject, do an Enter, which will move your cursor to the
body of the email. Good luck!

Re: composing an email query

2022-06-26 Thread Donna Casteen
Anthony, this does indeed sound strange. I have never seen a setting for this
type of email problem. My thought is that you are not actually composing your
email in the section of the body of the email is to be typed. From my first
time user of an iPhone days, I suspect that you are most likely accidently
writing your email in the Subject field of the new email. I found that double
tapping about an inch up from the bottom edge of the phone would place the
cursor in the correct place for me to compose my email. There are 4 areas in an
open email To, CC, double tapping on this will open a Bcc, Subject & main body
of the email.

RE: Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Home Page Gone

2022-06-26 Thread Debby
Hi Bill,

It happened to my sister one time and we called Apple accessibility to get it
back. Here's how to get it back:

Go to any app and flick up to edit and double tap to get in edit mode.

Go toward the bottom of the screen just above the dock to the page numbers and
double tap.

Look above the page numbers, and you will see a horizontal list of each page
with an indication of either "visible" or Hidden."

Find your "hidden" page and double tap. It should turn back to "visible."

Exit out of edit mode. All should be fine and dandy!

Take care and stay safe!

Subject: Oh Where, Oh Where Has My Home Page Gone

I have no idea what I did for this to happen, but my home page has disappeared.
Actually, I had 7 home pages, but the first one and all the apps I use
frequently apparently have been transferred to the library. I say this because
I used Siri to launch an app that I know for a certainty to be on that original
Home Page #1.

Couple of questions here:

1) How can I get my Home Page #1 back to normal display?

2) Isn’t it a bit strange that a person could hide anything in the library
without being prompted as to whether or not such an action is really desired?

I still have no idea how I manage to transfer an entire home page to the
library. SHISH!!!
