Or find a paper clip and use that,

I've lost so many of the sim removal tools but I can always find a paper clip
somewhere.

Carolyn, the first thing, take your phone out of the case.
2. locate a very tiny whole on the side of the phone. I don't know where it
would be on the i11, however for an example, the iphone se sim card would be
on the right edge as you're facing the phone. You'll need a paper clip to
pop the tray with the sim card out. The paper clip, That's my preferred tool

if you do happen to pop your sim card out I recomend doing it over
something, so it won't get lost. if you have any questions just ask and good

RE: HomePod Question

2020-03-01 Thread Simon A Fogarty
I've never heard the home pod as we can't get them here in new Zealand.

I do however have a few sonos play 1 devices although they aren't Bluetooth.

But what I have heard playing audio is the sonos move and it sounded pretty
bloody good to me.

And they are similar in how they work to the home pod I believe.

The other speakers I personally like are the UE boom for which they have just
added a new device called the hyper boom,

 Might be worth a look

2020-03-01 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I don't own one since we have a very extensive Sonos system, but I did look at
them and listen to them and "junky" is definitely is not how I'd describe them.
Apple does know music and they do sound very, very nice and no Bluetooth
speaker would be able to compete with the sound quality of a stereo pair of
HomePods playing via Airplay or natively via the HomePod. For a book it's of
course fine and you won't hear the difference, but the Bluetooth protocol just
not have the bandwidth to allow for that sort of quality. There are apparently
changes coming to Bluetooth which should vastly improve the sound quality, but
of course they won't work with older hardware which cannot support them.

RE: HomePod Question

2020-03-01 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I don't own a HomePod, but I'm curious, when something is transferred in this
way, wouldn't it be simply like sending it to the Homepod via Airplay?

After you transfer something to your HomePod, you can use your phone for other
things. You can lock the screen. But you cannot turn off the phone entirely, or
even close the app which is the source of the program on your HomePod. Thus, it
is not the same as a Chromecast, where you can completely turn off your device
once the Chromecast has taken over.

Hi Robert,
What you did with your book share book is exactly what I have done when I have
tried the handoff feature. It’s just that most of the time, it doesn’t work for
me. That’s my problem. And I don’t think there has ever been a time when it has
worked with a voice over voice. I actually have a stereo pair. I don’t know why
that should make a difference. I’ve tried both parts of my stereo pair, and
both work intermittently as described.

The paper clip, That's my preferred tool
since it works well.note: the tray and the sim card both, are very tiny, so
if you do happen to pop your sim card out I recomend doing it over
something, so it won't get lost. if you have any questions just ask and good
luck.

Where is it that you insert the SIM card. I wish I'd have thought to ask Ray

Hello,

Sometimes, it takes a bit of time for the IMEI to show up as unlocked after
it has been locked. It is worth sticking a sim in and seeing what happens if
you have followed the process and are unlocked.

I'm not speaking from personal experience, but this is true for the SE,
except for SE's from Sprint. You also need to pay attention to the bands
supported by your phone. Here's everything you ever wanted to know about
moving your SE from carrier to carrier

Automatic Log-in With App / Website

2020-03-01 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

Running an SE iPhone with iOS 13.3.1. I have a particular app / website
that I would like for my phone to remember both the user name / log-in and
password, so when I open it I can log directly in without having to enter
the password like the way I save this info in a browser on my PC. My phone
remembers the user name, but not the password. Is there a way to have an
iPhone do this? The app is the ADT Pulse. All help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks mooy moocho.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool. Go dodgers!

I went the bluetooth keyboard route just to get it done. H
Here's hoping the suggestions I put in my app review will be

Thanks for replying.

 Hi Mary and list,

To make sure that I wasn’t giving bad information, I just started a
BookShare book reading on my iPhone. I was using the James voice. I then
held my phone near the HomePod. The phone gave a little haptic click and
said transferring to HomePod. The James voice immediately began to read
 the book through the HomePod.

I then held the phone near the HomePod again and got the haptic
vibration and the phone said transferring to iPhone. The James voice
 again came through the iPhone.

Re: HomePod Question

2020-03-01 Thread Arnold Schmidt
Hi Mary,
Thanks to your last message, I will have to investigate whether this iPhone 6
is just too old to work with them. Also, I found the following link as to how
to reset your home pods. It would be worth a try, that is just too much money
to have invested in something that doesn't work right. If this really long link
doesn't work, google "how to reset homepod" and it will find it.

RE: unlocking a locked iPhone

2020-03-01 Thread Carolyn
Thanks. That makes sense.

One reason I wanted to know is if I ever decided to get another phone that I
might also want to use. I know, probably that doesn't make sense to some
people, but I know you get it, Wayne and Arlene.

Carolyn, the first thing, take your phone out of the case.
2. locate a very tiny whole on the side of the phone. I don't know where it
would be on the i11, however for an example, the iphone se sim card would be on
the right edge as you're facing the phone. You'll need a paper clip to pop the
tray with the sim card out. The paper clip, That's my preferred tool since it
works well.note: the tray and the sim card both, are very tiny, so if you do
happen to pop your sim card out I recomend doing it over something, so it won't
get lost. if you have any questions just ask and good luck.

Where is it that you insert the SIM card. I wish I'd have thought to ask Ray
at Wal-Mart, when I got my phone. I guess you have to take the case off the
phone to get to it?

Hello,

Sometimes, it takes a bit of time for the IMEI to show up as unlocked after
it has been locked. It is worth sticking a sim in and seeing what happens if
you have followed the process and are unlocked.

=Thanks.

While the article makes me think I may be in luck that my phone will work on
