Re: What is your favorite braille display to use with iPhone?

2021-01-25 Thread Jasmine Kotsay
Hi, Dana,
I use my focus 14 braille display, and I love it, even though it doesn’t
display much text. Another braille display I would like to recommend is the
Brailliant 14. I have seen a Brailliant braille display before, and it looked
pretty good. I like the 14 sell braille displays because they are so small and
compact. They don’t take up too much space, and I can fit my braille display
into a pretty small bag.

2021-01-25 Thread Richard Turner
I use the Orbit Reader 20 pllus. The Orbit Reader 40 should be out soon. The
20 plus is $699 and I believe the 40 will be $1499.
The Orbit displays have the best feeling braille of any display I have used.
And in my career as a braille instructor, I handled just about all of them.
Of course, it depends on what kind of things you will be doing beyond
connecting with the iPhone.
You can read about their displays at www.orbitresearch.com

Hi All!

Does anyone know how to make VoiceOver stop indicating mentions. I
have them turned off in settings, but VoiceOver keeps reading them and it's
actually really distracting as they are pointless to hear. Any help would be
wonderfully appreciated. If it helps, I'm using the iPhone 8 with iOS 14.3.

Have a blessed day all!

Re: Have anyone on this list purchased apple Home Pod Mini?

2021-01-25 Thread Cris Ali
Thanks a million John. I have another question. If there are a number of people
living in the same house and they have different Apple ID’s, can they all use
the same set of the home pod speakers, or the speakers are only linked to one
Apple ID?

Also a bit more. One new feature I like that’s been added and this is all

you what the weather is tell you any appointments you have on your calendar and
play the news that you’ve selected as your new source such as NPR.

Thanks John for this report. How would you evaluate the difference between the

I have three HomePods and two HomePod minis. But I am heavily into HomeKit. My
house is more automated every day and only by HomeKit products. So I love the
mini. One it gives you thread support that is a huge plus. Two they do sound
good for their size. Are use them for background music like currently I have
one on my end table playing at a lower volume 15 to 20%. Though adding to as a
stereo pair they can give you good sound at a higher volume.

I’m thinking of adding a couple of more minis.

  Hi All!

Does anyone know how to make VoiceOver stop indicating mentions. I have

actually really distracting as they are pointless to hear. Any help would be
wonderfully appreciated. If it helps, I'm using the iPhone 8 with iOS 14.3.

  Hi All!

Does anyone know how to make VoiceOver stop indicating mentions. I have
them turned off in settings, but VoiceOver keeps reading them and it's
actually really distracting as they are pointless to hear. Any help would be
wonderfully appreciated. If it helps, I'm using the iPhone 8 with iOS 14.3.

  Have a blessed day all!

I dare you to give this a try! Believe in and start to live by the
following promises: Psalm 46 10a, Philippians 4:6-7, and Exodus 14:14. Oh,
and when they prove to be true in your life remember to follow Philippians
4:4 and then declare 1 Chronicles 29:13! If you want to live with these
promises for all of eternity and avoid what you'll find in Revelation 20:15,
then I strongly urge you to follow and accept Romans 10:9-10 and then ask
Christ, through prayer into your life before it's too late! What are you
waiting for! It's the most amazing and life-changing decision you could ever
make! Want even more, then I dare you to check out the whole Bible for even
more amazing promises that could change your life.

Hi,

did anyone ever try the app textify? It translates audio messages from
WhatsApp, Signal and other messaging services into text and is able to
do
this in various languages, such as English, Spanish, French, German
etc. The
app is currently on offer for half its price. I wonder if it's
accessible
with VoiceOver.

tThanks for any advice,
Alexandra

Also a bit more. One new feature I like that’s been added and this is all
software. As you can just ask Siri for your daily update. Siri will then tell
you what the weather is tell you any appointments you have on your calendar and
play the news that you’ve selected as your new source such as NPR.

The difference with the original HomePods is that they do have a richer Fuller
sound because they’re larger. Larger speakers and more of them. So if you
wanted it just for music that that was your primary reason to get a HomePod
then I would say look at the larger one. But for good music and all the use
cases you mention with Siri the HomePod minis are fantastic. I’m always asking
mine questions do I have any new messages, what’s the weather. And controlling

RE: Mentions in Texts

2021-01-25 Thread Chris Szostak
Hi!

I just tchecked, and it's already turned off:)! Thus, I'm not sure what else
to do.

Have a blessed day!

Chris

I dare you to give this a try! Believe in and start to live by the following
promises: Psalm 46 10a, Philippians 4:6-7, and Exodus 14:14. Oh, and when they
prove to be true in your life remember to follow Philippians 4:4 and then
declare 1 Chronicles 29:13! If you want to live with these promises for all of
eternity and avoid what you'll find in Revelation 20:15, then I strongly urge
you to follow and accept Romans 10:9-10 and then ask Christ, through prayer
into your life before it's too late! What are you waiting for! It's the most
amazing and life-changing decision you could ever make! Want even more, then I
dare you to check out the whole Bible for even more amazing promises that could
change your life.

Hi All!

Does anyone know how to make VoiceOver stop indicating mentions. I have them
turned off in settings, but VoiceOver keeps reading them and it's actually
really distracting as they are pointless to hear. Any help would be wonderfully
appreciated. If it helps, I'm using the iPhone 8 with iOS 14.3.

A braille device/iPhone question

2021-01-25 Thread Duane Steele
Hello iPhone Listers,

Today, for some unknown reasun, when I go to a new line when writing with my
Braille display, instead of saying "new line", it's saying "line separator". So
far as I know, I've changed nothing. Any ideas? Thanks.

Peace & Blessings,

Thanks John for this report. How would you evaluate the difference between the
home pod, and the mini? What do you mean by “thread support? I’m trying to
decide between the two. Hoping to rely on Siri features like checking my
calendar, email and sending messages.

Re: Have anyone on this list purchased apple Home Pod Mini?

2021-01-25 Thread John JD Denning
I have three HomePods and two HomePod minis. But I am heavily into HomeKit. My
house is more automated every day and only by HomeKit products. So I love the
mini. One it gives you thread support that is a huge plus. Two they do sound
good for their size. Are use them for background music like currently I have
one on my end table playing at a lower volume 15 to 20%. Though adding to as a
stereo pair they can give you good sound at a higher volume.

I’m thinking of adding a couple of more minis.

text messaging has changed on my iPhone SE2020

2021-01-25 Thread bentleyj1952
Hi all,

I recently updated my phone from 13 . something to the latest IOS.

Now, when I am in message conversations, I hear the word muted. Is this
suppose to happen or maybe I have accidently made some kind of a change?

Thanks for any info.

Textify: Transfers audio messages into text

2021-01-25 Thread Alexandra
Hi,

did anyone ever try the app textify? It translates audio messages from
WhatsApp, Signal and other messaging services into text and is able to do
this in various languages, such as English, Spanish, French, German etc. The
app is currently on offer for half its price. I wonder if it's accessible
with VoiceOver.

tThanks for any advice,
Alexandra
