Not tried this myself, but Downie is a Youtube downloader which can optionally
extract the audio portion. I heard it's accessible. Again, not tried this
myself so would appreciate any feedback from those who have. The Mac version is
definitely accessible because I have it here so should know
that Google was
planning a subscription service for YouTube in the near future, so maybe they
are getting ready for that by restricting what the third party apps are able
to do, but not sure of that.

In case you didn't know, you can run iPhone apps on your iPad. In the App
Store, double tap iPad apps button. In the popup, double tap iPhone apps
button. iPhone apps on iPad generally run well, however they do not take up all
of the screen by default. There is a button to switch to full screen
