RE: voice over problems just appeared

2020-06-09 Thread 'David Quarmby' via VIPhone
Hi Ian,
Nationwide are now aware of this issue and trying to fix it and we await an
update from them.
It appears to have been caused following the 13.5 IOS update.
The work around which itself can be a bit flaky is to single finger triple tap
on the buttons that don't react or use a single finger double tap and hold as
if you were bringing up the context menu.
You might want to report it to the developers of the Fantasy Premier App?

Subject: voice over problems just appeared

Dear all,
I am having problems with a couple of apps responding when using voice over
that were not happening last week. I am in the UK and my Nationwide bank app
and fantasy premier league app are now very flaky when trying to click on links
or buttons. Is anyone else having this issue or something similar.

I have done the usual hard resets, deleting and redownloading steps. It may
have started after updating to 13.5 but not sure. I have updated to 13.5.1 but
the problem still exists.

I have contacted Nationwide and Apple but just get the usual finger pointing
response. If anyone else can replicate the problem it would help me decide how
to attack the problem further.

Thanks
Ian

RE: Apple Watch Soft Reset

2019-07-30 Thread 'David Quarmby' via VIPhone
Many thanks for this advice.

Just to let you know, it was a dirty screen causing the problem. I had a screen
protector on and some midge spray had accidently gone under the screen
protector unnoticed by me until I got some sighted assistance.

Midge spray must be some powerful stuff as it seems to have completely ruined
the screen protector.

Hi,

Does anyone know of a way of doing a soft reset with the Apple watch. For

almost seems like the screen is no longer recognising what I am trying to

For some reason I cannot move apps. I swipe up to edit mode then swipe up to
drag said item, move to where I want to drop it. I get a choice to add to a
certain folder and when I double tap that, it says drag canceled.

There's something close to that if you are willing to spend about $2000. It's
called Cyber Eyes, and it's basically Seeing AI in a set of smart glasses.

Greetings,

Seeing AI has a great update today.

One of my favorite changes is that you can reoer the channels to have them in
your preferred order.

I will explain it in the context of the list below.

Mar 12, 2019: Version 3.0

•Explore photos by touch: This new feature allows you to explore how objects in
a photo are arranged. Select "Explore Photo" from the Scene channel, photo

browser, or when recognizing photos from other apps. Then, move your finger
over the screen to hear where objects are located.

•All new iPad support.

•Get faster access to your favorite features by customizing the order in which
channels are shown.

To do this, open the menu from the main screen, go to settings,
then Reorder Channels.

The channels are listed in reverse order on the screen. Short Text is listed
at the top, and Light detection is the bottom. Next to each channel is a
“reorder button.”

Hold that button and drag the apps to your preferred arrangement, remembering
that on the main screen when you are done, Short Text will be the first channel.

VoiceOver users of course have to double tap and hold the second tap.

It works great!

•On the Person channel, you can now teach Seeing AI to recognize someone new,
directly from the main screen.

The Face Recognition button is now on the main screen. A few
left flicks from the person channel.

•When recognizing photos from other apps, you will now hear the processing
sound as in the main app.

Enjoy,

Richard

Hi Danney,

No, I’ve not experienced that. Make sure that you have got your finger at the
bottom edge, preferably in the middle and move your finger up until you feel
the second vibration.

To turn the phone on, you do it in the normal way and press the on/off button
for about 5 seconds. To turn it off, you press the volume donw button in
conjunction with the on off button .
