Lost the ability to kill apps in the app switcher

Hello All Today a friend updated her Verizon iPhone 4 from IOS 4.26 to 5.01 successfully. All was great until she tried to kill the Skype app from the app switcher by doing the usual double tap and hold but when she does you hear the tri-tone but instead of VO saying editing apps it then opens
