RE: What do you like about your apple watches?

2020-10-28 Thread Mervin Keck
I got my Series six yesterday and so far I really like it. I have the
GPS/Cellular and I have been playing with the Blindsquare on the watch as well
as customizing the face and settings. I'm still impressed with the progress
between the Series 2 and Series 6.

I've got a Series 6 watch. I was excited about the blood oxygen
monitor and have found it useful. Prior to the Series 6, I mostly used
the watch for vibrating the time and tracking other health items like
steps and heart rate. Now though, I am using it to track sleep in
addition to monitor my blood oxygen. If you can afford it, I would
recommend the Apple Watch SE, since it has nearly everything on the
Series 6 minus a couple of things. Plus, it will run a lot better and
be more stable with VoiceOver than the cheaper Series 3.

Good luck,

I would have to agree with others, in regards to the battery life. I
think it could be much better. I have to charge the watch every day. I
tend to do this in the middle of the day, or early evening. This way I
can wear the watch to bed.

I use the watch to track my exercise. It's been very helpful for me in
this way. I also use it to help track my sleep. I've been diagnosed with
non-24. So knowing how much sleep I get, really helps. Even if it's more
of an estimate.

It took me a while to get used to the feeling of having a watch on my
arm. Also, it took me some getting used to the band. Eventually, I do
plan to purchase a different band. I think I finally found one I would
like more than the one that came with my watch.

Also, I recommend purchasing a good protective cover for your watch. I
have heard that the face can get scratched easily. I purchased a
protective cover for mine, as soon as I got it.

However, I purchased a cheap one, and it now has a couple of small
cracks along the edge. So I am in the process of replacing it.

I think you will really enjoy having a watch. Sometimes I find it easier
to check messages on my watch. As well as respond back to them. And when
I am by myself, I will take a call on the watch. It's nice to be
hands-free.

I hope this helps you in making your decision. If you do decide to get a
watch, I really hope you enjoy it.

Re: What do you like about your apple watches?

2020-10-27 Thread CrazyEyez
I'm also getting an apple watch.
I'm leaning toward the 6 because of the somewhat faster processor, blood oxygen
tracking, and the ECG.
Most likely I won't be using those features extensively, but i'm keeping the
watch for 2 years at least, so why not start with the best I can get at the
time.

Re: What do you like about your apple watches?

2020-10-27 Thread Terri Stimmel

Hello there,

I love mine! I'm still figuring it out, as I have only had it for a few
months now. I have the series 5. I didn't realize there was even an SE
version, until reading this thread.

It's nice to be hands-free.

I hope this helps you in making your decision. If you do decide to get a
watch, I really hope you enjoy it.

Terri

Re: What do you like about your apple watches?

2020-10-27 Thread Wayne Merritt
I've got a Series 6 watch. I was excited about the blood oxygen
monitor and have found it useful. Prior to the Series 6, I mostly used
the watch for vibrating the time and tracking other health items like
steps and heart rate. Now though, I am using it to track sleep in
addition to monitor my blood oxygen. If you can afford it, I would
recommend the Apple Watch SE, since it has nearly everything on the
Series 6 minus a couple of things. Plus, it will run a lot better and
be more stable with VoiceOver than the cheaper Series 3.

Good luck,
Wayne Merritt

Re: What do you like about your apple watches?

2020-10-27 Thread goshawk on horseback
especially for an open water swimmer, it is a super useful device, as I tend
to rather lose track of time when having a good swim, so being able to
access that, plus the vibrating alarm, which one can set if one needs to
head back to shore at a particular time, makes it even more useful still.

agreed on the battery issue, could do better/last longer.
