Re: Voiceover reading the date incorrectly
When the screen is locked in my friend tries to flick to the right to get the date, it doesn't read correctly. For instance, if she were to flip to the right right now it would just say the number 13 rather than saying Tuesday, May 13. It just says 13. I don't know if she tried the hard reset though so I'm going check that with her and she gets home from work. Re: Voiceover reading the date incorrectly
If this helps, VoiceOver never reads the year in that case. Maybe the year isn't written there. Another thing I would check is that the phone is set to a language VoiceOver can read. If VoiceOver can only recognize numbers, that is what it will read. Re: Voiceover reading the date incorrectly
I don't think I have ever heard the date, just the time. I have an iPhone 5s as my personal phone and an iPhone 5 for work and neither one says the date. I figure I know what the date is and never thought of it only saying the time as an issue. Re: Voiceover reading the date incorrectly
I apologize if I wasn't clear. That's what happens when you're trying to multitask. LOL the problem my friend is having with her iPhone isn't anything about automatically speaking it. It's when she touches the screen to check the date or flicks to the right it will just say the 12th or number 12 like for today for instance. Instead of it saying Monday, May 12 it just says 12. I have never seen this happen before so I find it strange. Re: Voiceover reading the date incorrectly
Hi Has she tried powering her iPhone completely off? Or doing a hard reset of her iPhone, by holding down the lock and home buttons at the same time for about 20 seconds? LOL the problem my friend is having with her iPhone isn't anything about automatically speaking it. It's when she touches the screen to check the date or flicks to the right it will just say the 12th or number 12 like for today for instance. Instead of it saying Monday, May 12 it just says 12. I have never seen this happen before so I find it strange. I have an iPhone 5s as my personal phone and an iPhone 5 for work and neither one says the date. I figure I know what the date is and never thought of it only saying the time as an issue. She has an iPhone 5s just like I do, and we noticed that whenever her screen is locked and she checked the time and date it will read the time but it won't read the date correctly. Instead of it's saying something like May 12 it will just say 12. It won't say May or the year or anything. Does anybody have any ideas as to what could be causing this? I looked under voiceover settings and date and time settings and hers and mine are exactly the same and how they are set up. And yes mine reads correctly and hers won't. If anybody has any ideas as to what could be causing this I would appreciate your thoughts. Thank you in advance.
