Removing apps from the app switcher [was "RE: 2 separate questions regarding Voicedream"]

2021-02-14 Thread chalt...@outlook.com
I'm probably one of those where people think I discourage removing things from
the app switcher, but this isn't exactly true. If you're having trouble with
your iPhone, removing apps from the app switcher is absolutely something you
should do. There's also nothing wrong with removing apps from the app switcher
other than just making things a bit more inconvenient for yourself, so if this
is something you want to do then by all means go ahead. My only point is that
IOS has a lot of memory management code built into the operating system, so
take advantage of it. Don't try to out smart IOS by constantly removing an app
as soon as your finished with it. This will make things a bit more inconvenient
for you and may use up a bit more battery if you're constantly opening and
closing the same app. For my part, I do periodically go in and clean out my app
switcher, even if I'm not having any issues with my phone. I'll also close down
an app if it's one I just use very infrequently, like Venmo, Safari, Outlook,
... For apps that I use pretty much every day, like BARD, Messages, Netflix or
Prime, Bible, Kindle, ..., then I'll just leave these running until I feel the
need to do some house cleaning.

Maybe this will help Joshua,
Open the filter for folders, and select all folders, then double tap the add
button and you can create your own folder.
Remember, there is only ever one copy of a book but it can be listed in
multiple places like all folders, unread, no folder, or a custom folder.

2021-02-14 Thread Richard Turner
Joshua,
Have you explored the sort feature at the bottom of your folders?
I tend to use the manual sort if things are not in the order I want, like for
our book group, I load the books into that folder and then rearrange them
according to the order we will be reading in.
If a book series was properly formatted so that the titles would be in order,
the sort by title function might help.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm saving up for a new iPhone with more
space, because my 256 gig iPhone is almost completely full of mostly bard
books. I only wish that when you put files into voice dream reader, that it
would handle files numerically instead of most recently imported. If I want to
listen to say a graphic audio series, in proper order, I have to import my
books backwards, so they will be in proper order. It is rather annoying. I
don't have surround sound, but I've got bluetooth speakers from small to large,
and I can get some pretty nice sound from them. My bookshare books sound very
nice, and also any audio files I pop into voice dream reader via iTunes.

I don't see anything wrong with that. I'm saving up for a new iPhone
with more space, because my 256 gig iPhone is almost completely full
of mostly bard books. I only wish that when you put files into voice
dream reader, that it would handle files numerically instead of most

in proper order, I have to import my books backwards, so they will be
in proper order. It is rather annoying. I don't have surround sound,

I also find, that if I am having difficulties with voice stream taking things
out of the app switcher does help. Everyone will think I am kind of silly, but
I actually have a separate phone that I use instead of an iPad where I have

Attention anyone who loves to read, I have two groups on WhatsApp messenger,

reader.

2 separate questions regarding Voicedream

2021-02-13 Thread Terri Stimmel

Hello everyone,

I have 2 separate questions regarding Voicedream.

First of all, I currently have Voicedream Reader. As well as, Voicedream
scanner.

For now, can I use both of these Apps separately?

Does anyone know if eventually this will not be the case?

And if so, would I then have to purchase a pack with both reader, and
scanner together?

My other question is this.

I use reader for different things. But mainly I use it for reading my
audiobooks.

I have noticed in the last week, that sometimes when I start my book
playing, it will stop playing if I lock the screen. One of the things I
like about reader, is that I can lock the screen. There are times I
still can. But lately more times than not, I have to leave my phone
unlocked.

Has anyone else been experiencing this?

Is it new? And is this something I am likely going to have to put up with?

I thought I would ask. I am hoping it's just something strange with my
phone. Although, I highly doubt it.

Thank you,

Terri
