I disagree. There are also newspapers in newsStand, and it appears that
they are all inaccessible. However, newspaper (and magazine) standalone

Re: AccessWorld App Problem

2014-11-12 Thread Chris Chaffin
Yes, I can confirm this, it is also working for me!!
Now, when I first opened the app, October was the current issue. But I knew
the November issue is on the website. So I went to back issues and looked
under 2014, and November was there. I then went back to the current issue
page, and November was also there. So I think the app just had to update
itself.

Hope this helps!

Chris

 Hi,

The last issue I could see was February, and after I reinstalled, it
crashes when I try to open it. My guess is that it can see the last issue
you looked at before the problem occurred. Maybe those who can see the
October issue used the app more recently than those who can only see older
 issues.

 Best,
 Anna

On my IPhone 5s running iOS 8.1 when I open the AFB AccessWorld app I see
the February 2014 issue. I usually read the monthly issues through the

2014-11-09 Thread Anisio Correia
Hi all,

Using an iPhone 6 and iOS 8.1, the last month I am able to see on the app is
July. This is true if I select the current issue tab or the back issues tab. I
also restored my phone from a previous backup whenI purchased it. So, there
doesn't seem to be any consistent behavior (or misbehavior) across devices.

I'm going to try and use the contact us tab to let AFB know of theproblem, but
they surely should know by now.

Re: AccessWorld App Problem

2014-11-09 Thread Chris Chaffin
For those who think the problems with Access World is an iOS 8 problem, well, I
can confirm that it is not.
Since I was not getting the current issue, I deleted the app and re downloaded
it. Now, just like everybody else, Access World will not even open anymore.
It just crashes and takes me back to my home screen everytime I try to open it.
I am running iOS 7.1.2 on an iPhone 5.
Could it possibly be a problem with their server that the app connects to, and
not an actual problem with the app? Nevertheless, we all should write them and
report the problem so they can look into it and hopefully resolve it.

Hi Tom,

After reading your post about Access World, I opened it without a hitch. It

restored it from a recent backup from my Mac. HTH.

Re: AccessWorld App Problem

2014-11-08 Thread Eileen Misrahi
Hi Les,

At the bottom of the app, there are four tabs. In this order from left to right
current issue, back issues, contact us, and more. Check to see if the currens
issue is highlighted or do a double tap on it !select it. This is the only
thing I can come up with. HTH.

Best,

Re: AccessWorld App Problem

2014-11-08 Thread Les Kriegler
Hi Eileen,

Thanks for the assist. Did you Nishu was the only current issue showing. So I
decided to uninstall and re-– install the app. Now I cannot open it. I have the
same problem as reported by others. I think I will need to contact AFP next
week to try to figure out what is going on, but there is definitely a problem
here. Thanks for the assist.

What you and others have described with this app doesn't surprise me. There

quits. Anyway, we shall see.

Re: AccessWorld App Problem

2014-11-08 Thread Tom Lange
Hi,
I was unsure of how to contact AFB about this, so I checked the App Store and
found a link to the web site. Looking around a bit, I found an e-mail address
where you can send in comments/suggestions, and, I presume, bug reports.
Anyone wishing to contact AFB about AccessWord can write to

accesswo...@afb.net

I just wrote to them a few moments ago and hope I hear back from them.

Hello Les and all,

Now I am running iOS 7.1.2, and I just checked, and the current issue for me is
September 2014.
Now Eileen said she had the October issue, and if this is the case, then there
is definitely a problem loading issues in the app.
I am considering deleting and reinstalling the app to see if it makes a

So Eileen, do you actually have the October issue in your app?

Thanks all,

Re: AccessWorld App Problem

2014-11-08 Thread Eileen Misrahi
Hello All,

To answer your question Christopher, I just chacked my Access World again and I
have the October 2014 issue. I tried to just copy the first heading, but I
guess that's for another thread on this list with 8.1. Some of the topics are
iPhone 6 and 8.1. an article on Android, and resources 2014 for employment. I
haven't received the November issue as of yet and maybe I'll be stuck on the
October one.

 Hi Eileen,

Thanks for the assist. Did you Nishu was the only current issue showing.
So I decided to uninstall and re-– install the app. Now I cannot open it.
I have the same problem as reported by others. I think I will need to
contact AFP next week to try to figure out what is going on, but there is
definitely a problem here. Thanks for the assist.

 Hi Les,

At the bottom of the app, there are four tabs. In this order from left to
right current issue, back issues, contact us, and more. Check to see if
the currens issue is highlighted or do a double tap on it !select it.
This is the only thing I can come up with. HTH.

 Best,
 Eileen

Eileen, that's very interesting. I can only load the June issue. And
that's listed is the most current one. I want to where I can't find
 subsequent issues. Any suggestions?

 Hi Tom,

After reading your post about Access World, I opened it without a
hitch. It loaded the October issue and I was able to open an article
without the app crashing. I don't know if this is a difference, but
when I got my iPhone 6 I restored it from a recent backup from my Mac.
 HTH.

 Cheers,
 Eileen

 Hi,
I upgraded to an iPhone 6 about a week ago and am in the process of
reinstalling a number of apps that I had on my 5S. One of those apps
is AccessWorld from AFB. After installing it, I've noticed that it
will try to load content, then kick me back out to the home screen.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled it twice, and rebooted the phone, but
the app still misbehaves. Has anyone else noticed this?

 Thanks.

 Tom

Re: AccessWorld App Problem

2014-11-08 Thread Eileen Misrahi
Just one more thing to add. Just went up to the website to see if the November
issue has been released, but all I could review was the October issue. Maybe we
all need to write to AFB It takes a village to be noticed.

 Hello Les and all,

Now I am running iOS 7.1.2, and I just checked, and the current issue for me
 is September 2014.
Now Eileen said she had the October issue, and if this is the case, then
there is definitely a problem loading issues in the app.
I am considering deleting and reinstalling the app to see if it makes a
 difference.
So Eileen, do you actually have the October issue in your app?

 Thanks all,

 Chris Chaffin

I think you are right. I think with this particular app, there is a problem
with content loading properly. I saw that before and install it, is if you
remember, I was only getting issues up to June. Then when I am installed the
app and put it back on, it doesn't load it all. It starts the load, but then
it quits. Anyway, we shall see.

 Hi Les,

What you and others have described with this app doesn't surprise me. There
have been so many inconsistencies with specific apps working and not
working with 8.1. I'm hoping that the nexs update wwill fix some of the
 bugs. JMO.
