Allan,

Screen recognition doesn’t work on Amazon music app for iPhone. Labeling
buttons works to an extent. I have tried various alternatives with no luck.
Amazon is huge, they just need people to make noise if they want something to
be done about it.

Spotify has figured it out, so it’s not rocket science.

I don’t include what I sent amazon because as you noted, people have different
experiences that they need to report should they have a problem.

Hi Feliciano,

I'm glad you got screen recognition active in Amazon Music and are now
experiencing what I was no doubt poorly communicating. I agree that the Amazon
Music app needs accessibility improvements and thank you for writing them with
your comments.

I'm finding that whenever I encounter an app that seems to have controls or
buttons that VoiceOver isn't speaking, that going to the rotor and turning
screen recognition on for that app often gives me much better results. However,
I always turn screen recognition off before exiting that app. I prefer leaving
screen recognition turned off by default.

Hello All,

I have to admit, when compared to the outstanding VoiceOver accessibility of
the Kindle app for iOS, the Amazon Music app for iOS is woefully lacking.

While one can certainly employ various VoiceOver workarounds, with varying
degrees of success, the experience is not, in my opinion, enjoyable.

AT this point in time, I would certainly not recommend the Amazon Music app for
iOS to any VoiceOver user.

Be that as it may, when accessed via Amazon Alexa, the Amazon Music service for
the Echo hardware devices is excellent.

Just my opinion, of course.

I’m not so sure about this. Amazon has addressed accessibility issues in the
past. VoiceView is pretty much directly a result of pressure that was brought
to bear on Amazon over accessibility. One thing I know for sure though, is that
if people don’t report issues to Amazon then we’ll never even find out if they
care or not. Discouraging others from reporting issues will make it even more
unlikely that Amazon will address anything.

RE: Amazon music app for iPhone broek accessibility

2023-08-23 Thread Christopher Chaltain
I know this isn't strictly related, but I also found that using the web
interface for Amazon Music isn't particularly accessible either. I want a music
streaming service that I could access from as many devices as possible, so I
wen with Apple Music.

 Feliciano,

I just want you to know that you aren't alone. I'm having accessibility trouble
also with the Amazon music app. I reported that none of the buttons are
labeled, focus when swiping problems & skipping tracks when I'm forced to swipe
past the player. I'm using an iPhone 11 with the most recent IOS & Amazon music
updates. I've been having this problem for a year or more. Having screen
recognition On or Off makes no difference in the Amazon app.

Donna

Hi,
I didn’t explain here as I have already explained to amazon. I am having issues
with unlabled buttons on both iPhone and Windows apps. On iPhone, I am also
having abnormal behavior when swiping on occasion which triggers the app to go
to the next track. If you play a track, go to the now playing screen and it’s a
mess. Not sure if you’re an amazon music unlimited user as unlimited users have
different UI on iPhone.

Feliciano, I'm not trying to be contentious here but I disagree that turning screen recognition on in the Amazon Music app has no impact. It makes a difference in what VoiceOver speaks on my iPhone 13 Mini running iOS 16.6. Perhaps you have your settings different or don't know how to turn screen recognition on in order to use it. Alan Lemly Sent from my iPhoneOn Aug 23, 2023, at 4:57 PM, Feliciano Godoy wrote:

Feliciano,

Your post is a little short on details regarding what accessibility issues
you're experiencing with the latest Amazon Music app. The app seems to be
working fine for me. What exactly is the problem you're having?

I hope we can make some noise about this as I have been trying to have them

Feliciano, Ok, but you might want to include details such as a copy of what you sent to Amazon Support when asking others to report an accessibility issue. I do have an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription and I'm not experiencing the accessibility issues you described even on the now playing screen. I've found that turning screen recognition on within the Amazon Music app makes many of its screens more accessible. Alan Lemly Sent from my iPhoneOn Aug 23, 2023, at 4:12 PM, Feliciano Godoy wrote:
