I was going to ask the same question since my wife and I are traveling together
in July. I was hoping I wouldn't have to have two boarding passes for united
airlines on two different phones. If I can get away
doubt it, but thought I'd ask.

Hello Eric. Southwest is a wonderful airline except for their app. The app
doesn't use the passbook or the lock screen. You can retrieve your pass in the
app, get it in a text message or get it in a photo. I wish that Southwest would
make its app work like the American Airlines app.

Besides ensuring that the curtain is off, make sure the brightness setting is
not way down, or they may not be able to see the boarding pass. That happened
to me once.

open the app where my boarding pass was then lock the phone so that
when I unlocked the pass would come up right away. The TSA agent will
scan the barcode right off the phone. Just make sure you don't have
your screen curtain
