Default Voice Consideration

2012-09-27 Thread Les Kriegler
Well, I had originally set my default voice to Australian by going to Settings,
General International and Regional format. However, I discovered that when
searching for locations in Siri, the information given was listed in
kilometers. Since I prefer distances in miles, that's enough for me to switch
back to United States English. I'll use the Rotor when I need to change my
voice to Australian, not a big deal. As has been pointed out here, learning to
use the Rotor is an extremely valuable tool.

Re: Default Voice Consideration

2012-09-27 Thread Cheryl Homiak
I don't really care about the kilometers vs miles and what Siri presents also
can depend on how I phrase my question but certainly this is a consideration
for some. Also, as I've stated before, the problem for me is not learning to
use the rotor as I have been doing this for quite a while. my problem is that i
don't like the compact Australian voice or at least the noise interference I
get with it. If I only use the rotor and keep Samantha as the default voice, I
can only have the compact Australian voice. For me, this is a big drawback just
as occasional kilometers is for some.
