Re: Doubts pertaining to KNFB reader

2017-11-12 Thread Richard Turner
In the early days of the app, and maybe it is still true, you had to pick the
KNFB file first.
Then you could cancel and pick something else and it would work.
I'd try picking the KNFB format and sending a file to yourself and then try
another format like plain text.

Richard

It maintains the format of the original text more than other OCR apps and since
KNFB Reader ignores all formatting, it is my go to app for scanning whole pages.

Judy,
Do you know about the two finger scrub?
That will activate the back button.
I've found that if you put two fingers on the screen and keep contact on the
screen while you do a very fast circle a little larger than a quarter, it works
every time. Some people have trouble with the standard scrub gesture which is
quickly making a print Z.

Richard

Re: Doubts pertaining to KNFB reader

2017-11-11 Thread Chris Chaffin

To share a file in KNFB Reader, go to file explorer, swipe to the file you want
to share, flick up with one finger and double tap on share. It should ask to
choose file type, swipe to the file type and double tap, then the share sheet
should pop up. Choose how you would like to share the file and double tap.

Hope this helps,

Chris

2017-11-10 Thread Richard Turner
I had done that.
I think the App store was having issues as I just tried again and it worked.

It maintains the format of the original text more than other OCR apps and since
KNFB Reader ignores all formatting, it is my go to app for scanning whole pages.

All other buttons and links worked fine.

While Seeing AI needs to be a bit higher off the page, it does a better job in
the document channel than KNFB Reader and it is free.
It maintains the format of the original text more than other OCR apps and since
KNFB Reader ignores all formatting, it is my go to app for scanning whole pages.
I just tried to enter a review in the app store for KNFB Reader and the Write a
Review button did nothing. My sighted wife, with VoiceOver off, couldn't
activate the button either.

All other buttons and links worked fine.
It could be that KNFB Reader is on its way out.

Subject: Doubts pertaining to KNFB reader

Hi all
Seek inputs on the following
1. How to convert images scanned via KNFB reader to read them on a computer.
2. Often while importing text images from whatsapp to KNFB reader, they get
quite distorted. Apart from improving the quality of the photo and the paper
being captured, is there any inbult function in the KNFB reader so that it can
make better sense of the text in the image?

Thanks in anticipation
Best

Re: Doubts pertaining to KNFB reader

2017-11-09 Thread Richard Turner
Hi Turab,
When you have scanned anything with KNFB reader, and saved the file, you can
export the file as plain text.
Open the File Explorer in KNFB Reader.
Double tap on edit.
Then double tap on the file you want to export.
Then go back to the Share button and double tap.
Then you can choose how to get it to your computer. You can email, copy to one
drive, dropbox, etc.
No, KNFB Reader can not improve on the quality of an image.
HTH,
Richard
