Teresa,

I don't think there is a key on the Amazon Basic keyboard to lock the screen.
I have a few Bluetooth keyboards, including the Amazon Basic, and have found
such a key only on the one I have from Satechi.

Subject: Electronic Version of Amazon Basics Bluetooth Quick-start Guide?

 Hi, all,

I just got this keyboard to use with my iPod. There is an actual printed
guide in the box. (I haven't seen that in ages.) However, I'd like to get
 an
electronic version. I've googled for it and checked on the Amazon site.
 Does
anyone have a copy or can you point me in the right direction?

 Thanks,

 Teresa

You cannot lock the phone from a keyboard unless you activate the Assistive
touch option in the accessibility settings which then puts an icon on your
screen that has a lot of options for people who have limited dexterity, etc.
I don't recommend it just to make it possible to get to an icon to lock the
screen.
Just push the button or set the auto-lock to a shorter time.

Richard

Yes, both the wired off brand keyboard and the Anker ultra slim have this

Incidentally, it is possible to unlock the screen with the Amazon keyboard

Hi Richard,

Yes, it did have a designated key combo...function key plus home. I've seen
others that have function plus equals, and another which has function plus 5
on the numbers row. It's interesting that some do and some don't. Most of
the time I hunt till I find what it is but the Amazon Basics hasn't given up
its secret if it has one. You can unlock the screen by using the F1 key, but
I haven't found a way to lock it.

Thanks, Richard. I've been able to do this with two other keyboards. It's
very handy if the iPod is sitting on a dock across the room, but it's not
 a deal-breaker. :)

You cannot lock the phone from a keyboard unless you activate the

I don't recommend it just to make it possible to get to an icon to lock
 the screen.
Just push the button or set the auto-lock to a shorter time.

Teresa, I love this keyboard! But that seems to be the one function I
haven't been able to locate, which makes me think it probably isn't
 there.
If you...or anyone else...finds it, please! let me know!
