I guess it depends on what phone you have and what IOS. I have the 6S+ with
IOS 13.5.1 as well and I can use the

anything when I press the power button to unlock it. I didn't even
know that you could do that. If my iPhone is locked and I hit the
power button, I hear a little noise that is it.
