I prefer a Midwest accent and have gotten to where I can sort of tell a Minnesota accent. -Original Message- From: viphone@googlegroups.com [mailto:viphone@googlegroups.com] On Behalf Of Joshua Hendrickson Sent: Thursday, April 29, 2021 1:29 AM To: viphone@googlegroups.com Subject: Re: Interesting discovery with Voiceover, and the Alex voice I always enjoy voices with some kind of accent. Re: Interesting discovery with Voiceover, and the Alex voice
I use Arthur the male Irish Siri voice on my iPhone SE 2020 & Apple Watch series 5. He is very clear and pronounces everything fine, he is the clearest out of them all. Are use this voice because I reside in Ireland. This is the voice that I always wanted on my Apple Watch and I was delighted when it became available last year. Before I had my iPhone 7, I was limited to the male Siri voice for Voiceover and Lee on my iPhone 5. In public, heads would turn when I used Siri and it spoke in an Australian accent. I have had it for a few months now. I love it! Before I got it, I was using the 10 XR. Anyway, I have noticed something odd. I can't say for certain when I first noticed it. And I am also not quite sure if it is somehow my phone, or the Voiceover voice of Alex. But I have noticed that some words sound odd to me. I can't think of any examples at the moment. And for this I do apologize. It seems though that letters sound as though they are dropped. Or that the word is not written correctly. Now I do tend to mis-spell a good deal, and I have to go back and correct stuff. However, the other day i was sending a text with a word in it that ended in the letters E, D. I can't remember what the word was now, or I would have just written it. But when I read my text back to make sure it was correct, I had to view the word character by character, to make sure it was correct. It was. But Alex spoke it as though the d wasn't there. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it happen with other voices? I have tried other voices in the past. But I always come back to Alex. It used to seem clearer to me. What do you all think? Re: Interesting discovery with Voiceover, and the Alex voice
I always use the enhanced versions of the voices for voice over on my iPhone. I'm currently using enhanced Australian Lee. He is a great voice for voice over. I have used Tom before and he is also good. Ava is also very good. On 4/25/21, Duane Steele wrote: > I never saw any Tom in an enhanced version. Just Tom. Re: Interesting discovery with Voiceover, and the Alex voice
Just an observation. I had used Alex for a while, and went back to Samantha. Today, because several of you have mentioned Tom, I decided to download and try Tom. I like this voice. However, when using my Braille device, and changing the braille output and input modes, I did notice that Tom doesn't pronounce the letter t in the words "outpuut and input". But otherwise, I like Tom's voice. Thanks. Peace & Blessings, Pastor Duane L. I like Alex because his voice sounds more human like than Tom. RE: Interesting discovery with Voiceover, and the Alex voice
I stopped using Alex because of those kind of strange pronunciation problems. I use Tom Enhanced and don't find nearly the number of bad pronunciations. Interesting discovery with Voiceover, and the Alex voice
Hello everyone, I have the iPhone 12 mini.
