Any chance you need to clean your camera lens? I had that happen to me once.
I use a lens cloth made for glasses.

fifty dollar bills.
I start Looktell running, lay the phone flat on the bill and slowly raise it
up. Sometimes I flip the bill to the other side. I would estimate that the
distance is probably between 6 to 8

Are you using the latest version of LookTel Money reader or the first
version that did not have Canadian currency in it? Check to make sure
you have the latest version.
Are lighting conditions good enough for the camera to see the bills?
