Thank you for the suggestions. I rebooted the phone. Magically, the on off button's re-appeared !! I've then ran about 10 or 12 apps. After that when I check the toggle, the buttons had disappeared :-( I am now trying to reboot - have never had such a problem with the iPhone 4, iPhone 4s,
