Carla:

At the time I got my doorbell, which was about three years ago, you needed an
Echo device with a screen to talk to the doorbell, but I think that now you can
do it even with the Echo dot. Might want to make sure, if you just have a dot.

I have a ring 2 doorbell. After you get the notification on your phone, you
have to double tap the notification to open the ring app. This takes two or
three seconds. If you want to talk to the person at the door, you have to find
the talk button, which voice over does not announce by swiping. You have to
know where it is, which is in the upper left part of the screen. Voice over
will announce it when you slide your finger over it. Then you have to double
tap the talk button. These steps take a bit of time, so not immediately
available.

To make things faster, if you have an Amazon Echo,, you can just wake it up and
say, “talk to the back door’, and the mike will open immediately. This is the
quickist way to get to talk, if you are at home.

Hope this helps.

Need Help & Advice

2020-10-16 Thread Carla
I had a situation at my house last night and I want to get the ring
doorbell. I need to know which model works with voiceover and if it is
totally accessible. Also does voiceover react slow or does it activate real
fast when I open the doorbell app when the phone rings.

Thanks for any help you can give.

Carla
