Will the alert speak once and disappear or will it speak and leave a message
on the locked screen?

set your event, i.e., “Add new event for Monday at 2:30 pm titled Activity, and
alert me 30 minutes before.”

option of setting 2 different alerts before the event happens. For
instance, you could set an alert for 15 minutes before and an alert
for 30 minutes before the

option.
Double tap on that and then double tap on events, and you can set the default
alert to none, time of event, 5 minutes before, 15 minutes before, 30, 1 hour,
