Hello Richard, and list,

Thank you for your help. I do appreciate it.

I did look at the book. It is 1 file. I played it for about 5 minutes,
on my laptop. I did not hear the noise then. So I don't have a clue as
to what could be going on. I think I will test for a longer period with
another book.

Thank you again for attempting to help me.

It sounds to me as if the sound is in the book, not something from Voice Dream
Reader. Can you listen another way?
The setting I am talking about is in the audio settings after the voice, you
should find Advanced Audio settings.
But, with your further description, I suspect it is just in the book.
If you do not hear it with other books ...

Hello everyone,

Thank you for the responses. I really appreciate it.

Alright, first of all, this is a sound I haven't ever heard before. I
seem to only hear it within this audiobook.

However, I haven't listened to another audiobook to really check things
out. But this is not the first audiobook I have read using VoiceDream.

when I go to read, I mute my phone so that I don't receive notification
sounds. I also lock the screen.

richard, I am not sure if this book is in multiple files. I will need to
check, in order to know for sure. I am pretty sure that it isn't though.

But with this said, I can not find those settings you mentioned at all.
I opened the book, and I did find audio settings. But nothing about
advanced settings. Just an area to adjust the reading speed.

Am I possibly in the wrong area?

Thank you,

Terri

You said this is with audio books, are these made up of multiple files in one
book?
If so, open a book, double tap on audio settings at the top, then find advanced
audio settings and double tap.
Then see if this setting is set to on, and if so turn it off.Play Sound When
Advancing to a New Article.

Terri, if you use Facebook, and have not turned off background app refresh,
Facebook, especially messenger will continue giving you notifications in the
background while you're doing other stuff.

For an easy fix, you can turn off notifications for Facebook and Facebook
messenger, unless you want to receive those notifications, in which case,
there's nothing you can really do.

Subject: Questions regarding voice dream reader, and a new problem.

Hello everyone,

Are use voice dream reader all the time, to read audiobooks, and to view
other files. Eventually, I plan to try to read PDF files, or EPUB files. But
I don’t know when I might start doing this. Anyway, I have noticed an odd
problem with Voice Dream reader, in the last few days. I wanted to find out
if anyone might know what’s causing this. Or if anyone else has experienced
it. For instance, when I start reading one of my audiobooks, I start
getting these chiming sounds throughout my reading. The file plays fine.
There does not seem to be any other problems that I can tell.
However, the chime is usually a single chime, and can be infrequent. It can
vary in how often it happens. The chime does change every once in a while.
Sometimes a double chime will play, almost sounding like a doorbell.

So I was wondering, is anyone else experiencing anything like this?
Why might this be happening? And what can I do about it?

It’s rather annoying, and if I can stop it from happening I would like to do
so.

Any help is very much appreciated.

Thank you,

Terri
