What I usually do with the tone setting on both my NLS player and now
on my iPhone bard mobile app is to set the tone one step below normal
and leave it there. This provides just a little bit of bass to my
audio books.

I also adjust the tone on BARD at times, as some of my headphones muffle the
sound more than others and sometimes the narrator voice seems too shrill in
earbuds. My biggest challenge with narrated books is that the narrator often
changes the volume when speaking and that can be hard when
I never really mess with the tone feature of the bard mobile app. I
pretty much leave the tone at normal.

Hello,
Now that you have confirmed the VoiceOver accessability of the playback
feature, I will definitely buy a title as I am truly amazed at the low, low
prices of titles.
One thing I love about the BARD app, is its built-in equalizer. Being able to
adjust the tone of the narration truly
I have Chirp installed and the app is accessible. I haven't listened to more
than a minute of a book, but find the app really simple so far.

Hi Mark,
I know Two different people who have used the Churp app and they both said it
was accessible. This was a few months ago, and I haven’t personally tried the
Churp app as I haven’t found a book I want to purchase yet.

After doing a bit of research it would seem that AudioBooks.com is very much
mimicking what obviously has been successful for Audible. They offer a $14.95 a
month subscription which gives you 1 credit just as with Audible. One review
which is a few years old mentioned that you can buy

While on this topic I notice that there is an audiobooks.com service in the
sonos controler under ad music service. Does anyone know about this service and
if so, what is the subscription and is it worth while?

And in addition to all of the great books they have, it’s just so easy and
accessible and I just like the fact I have so many books available there in my
library and I can do just about all of my listening in this one app.

I have to check again, but last time I looked they did not offer the all at

subscription for $22.95. But between my credits and the daily deal books as

The library still doesn't have some of the stuff audible has. I love
audible and just got a gold member ship for half off. I will most
likely get 2 credits a month once the half off ends.

Sieghard,
In Canada do they allow you to buy the Gold membership at once? I have in the
past paid $149 for 12 credits, which is usually 12 books, which comes out to
about $12.50 per book and you can use them anytime, rather than just once a
month.

I think between our free library services and Audible one has a pretty good
choice of books. If you can afford $14.95 a month for an Audible Canada
membership you then have also access to their daily deal books which are
anywhere between $3 to $7 or so Canadian and while not all are books which
Hello Mark. I know the e mail that you are talking about chirp and also the
books that they offer. I should point out that this seems to be only for people
who live in the US and so if people live out side of the US like in Canada I am
ot shure if you are able to pay for the books or not. I
I have not used the app but I have it installed. Seems to be accessible.
