Lawrence, the triple click of the home button to turn VO on or off is not configured by default. You will find it in Settings general, Accessibility. Here is an example of when I use them and how they are different. When I am running on the treadmill I use the three-finger triple tap for speech

I think the triple click of the home button to turn on and off VoiceOver is configured by default during the initial set up. If the set up has been done without using the triple click of the home button then I don't think it is the default any longer. On 29/01/13 05:18, Sandy Finley wrote:

Hi, Tripple click home lets you toggle vo on and off without navigating into accessibility which wouldn't be possible if vo is turned off anyway. Most people find that when playing games for example, they usually work best with vo turned off. Note that as of iOs 5, the feature is enabled by

I always have blind people who I help with i devices set it to voiceover first thing. Once that's done, if speech is lost for any reason such as accidentally turning it off, you can trippleclick home and get Voiceover back in normal operation. If you don't do this and speech is lost for whatever
