Okay. I guess I'm not familiar with how apps work in the Android world since
what you're describing doesn't seem to require any app intervention. To get
your desired Android results, ClipCopy only had to be installed it sounds
like. That would be nice if it were possible in the iOS world.

Richard understood my point as I wanted to explain. I want to do exactly the
same, mean copy from the laptop and directly paste in edit box of whatsapp with
out again copying the text from the edit box of text sinc, for instance.
Actually in android I used to have one such application "ClipCopy", where I
could type in a browser and click on send button, the text is ready to be
pasted anywhere in the phone.
Copying text from the text sync edit box will be long process, specially when I
am chatting with somebody.

RE: Looking method to copy text from laptop and pasting in iPhone

2016-05-09 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
I doubt iOS would give you direct access to the clipboard to do this, if that
were possible there would be a bunch of apps on the app store for this and apps
like Zero Tap wouldn't use an app to first sync the text to the device before
you can then copy and paste it.

My rationale is that you can post your text to a page (one created for the
task), so that it appears as default text in a text area, where you can select
all, copy, then go to other text field in an app and paste it. I could
seriously use this for sending useful notes and addresses I have on the pc.

There is no way to paste text directly from a computer into an iPhone without
using some kind of text syncing app.
Especially not directly pasting into any edit box you want.

RE: Looking method to copy text from laptop and pasting in iPhone

2016-05-09 Thread Sieghard Weitzel
It's not that long of a process since there is a copy button in Zero Tap, it's
not like you would have to highlight the text and then select copy from some
menu.
As an alternative, why not use a Bluetooth keyboard so you can type just as you
would on your laptop while you are in your Whats App conversation or you could
of course use the voice message feature and speak your reply even if the other
person prefers to text. I know it's not what you are asking since it appears
this Android app or website you were using was able to send text directly to
the clipboard, but to me using a Bluetooth keyboard is even more direct since
you don't have to type on another device which still means you have to perform
the paste command, with a Bluetooth keyboard it is as direct as possible.

Regards,
Sieghard

Ok, a lot easier, so long as you trust the service provider as all clients are
posting potentially
personal/private/security-conscious information through a third party server
you have no control over. Note: there is rarely if
ever charity, they have to get something out of it, and identifiable data is
a prize indeed these days.

This works, but more fiddly to isolate the text you want out of the reply text

Re: Looking method to copy text from laptop and pasting in iPhone

2016-05-09 Thread 'RobH.' via VIPhone
My rationale is that you can post your text to a page (one created for the
task), so that it appears as default text in a text area,
where you can select all, copy, then go to other text field in an app and
paste it. I could seriously use this for sending useful
notes and addresses I have on the pc.

There is no way to paste text directly from a computer into an iPhone without
using some kind of text syncing app.
Especially not directly pasting into any edit box you want.

I really appreciate this description, I could achieve this with scripting on my
own web site for private use; PHP is good like
that.
I bet we could make it work both ways.

I'm a bit confused by your post. An app like Zero Tap seems to do for me
exactly what you're describing. I type the text into the
web interface magic box on my computer, open the Zero Tap app on my iPhone,
copy the text from the magic box which the app is
presenting, and I'm able to paste it to any app's edit box on my iPhone at
least until the clipboard is cleared or replaced with
other text.

Maybe you could provide more specific details on exactly what you're trying to
accomplish.

Re: Looking method to copy text from laptop and pasting in iPhone

2016-05-09 Thread Richard Turner
There is no way to paste text directly from a computer into an iPhone without
using some kind of text syncing app.
Especially not directly pasting into any edit box you want.

Re: Looking method to copy text from laptop and pasting in iPhone

2016-05-09 Thread Alan Lemly
I'm a bit confused by your post. An app like Zero Tap seems to do for me
exactly what you're describing. I type the text into the web interface magic
box on my computer, open the Zero Tap app on my iPhone, copy the text from the
magic box which the app is presenting, and I'm able to paste it to any app's
edit box on my iPhone at least until the clipboard is cleared or replaced with
other text.

Maybe you could provide more specific details on exactly what you're trying to
accomplish.
